{"id":4979,"date":"2011-10-24T06:16:55","date_gmt":"2011-10-24T10:16:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.northcountrypublicradio.org\/inbox\/?p=4979"},"modified":"2011-10-24T08:59:40","modified_gmt":"2011-10-24T12:59:40","slug":"morning-read-life-death-on-the-moose-river","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.northcountrypublicradio.org\/inbox\/2011\/10\/24\/morning-read-life-death-on-the-moose-river\/","title":{"rendered":"Morning Read:  Life, death on the Moose River"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.adirondackdailyenterprise.com\/page\/content.detail\/id\/527285\/-They-were-amazing-.html?nav=5008\">Mike Lynch, Outdoor Writer for the Adirondack Daily Enterprise<\/a>, has an amazing tale of the risks and the crisis that befell a group of whitewater paddlers earlier this month on the Moose River.<\/p>\n<p>Paddlers from the Adirondacks were able to save one man from Rochester before he was swept over a dangerous ledge<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;I looked at Luke and Ian above me,&#8221; [Jeff] Berger recalled. &#8220;They nodded  that they were ready, and I just kind of jumped over the top of the boat  into the water and they pulled me.&#8221;&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;They  were amazing. I&#8217;ve never seen anything like that,&#8221; Berger said. &#8220;They  were so quick, like they had done it a million times. They had all the  bases covered immediately.
