{"id":5084,"date":"2011-11-17T04:08:38","date_gmt":"2011-11-17T09:08:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.northcountrypublicradio.org\/inbox\/?p=5084"},"modified":"2011-11-17T04:08:38","modified_gmt":"2011-11-17T09:08:38","slug":"morning-read-2-death-of-4-teenagers-stuns-plattsburgh-peru","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.northcountrypublicradio.org\/inbox\/2011\/11\/17\/morning-read-2-death-of-4-teenagers-stuns-plattsburgh-peru\/","title":{"rendered":"Morning Read 2:  Death of 4 teenagers stuns Plattsburgh, Peru"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Plattsburgh Press-Republican has a sweeping line-up of stories this morning chronicling the heart-breaking accident that left four teenagers &#8212; including two exchange students from China and Vietnam &#8212; dead Tuesday night.<\/p>\n<p>A vigil was held last night that drew hundreds in Plattsburgh, <a href=\"http:\/\/pressrepublican.com\/0100_news\/x1121443094\/Vigil-celebrates-lives-of-students-lost\">according to the newspaper<\/a>, and the cause of the accident is <a href=\"http:\/\/pressrepublican.com\/0100_news\/x1121443088\/Cause-of-tragic-accident-investigated\">now under investigation<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Authorities believe Brandon Rennert, 17, of Peru was driving the car  that struck and killed two foreign students \u2014 Dat T. Ong, 17, of Vietnam  and Chu Xiong, 18, of China \u2014 who were walking along Peasleeville Road  just before 5 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>The car then hit an earthen embankment several  hundred feet away and exploded in flames.
