{"id":5627,"date":"2012-03-05T07:52:21","date_gmt":"2012-03-05T12:52:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.northcountrypublicradio.org\/inbox\/?p=5627"},"modified":"2012-03-05T10:51:16","modified_gmt":"2012-03-05T15:51:16","slug":"morning-read-doug-hoffman-considering-third-house-bid-in-2012","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.northcountrypublicradio.org\/inbox\/2012\/03\/05\/morning-read-doug-hoffman-considering-third-house-bid-in-2012\/","title":{"rendered":"Update:  Doug Hoffman considering third House bid in 2012"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>UPDATE:\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/poststar.com\/blogs\/all_politics_is_local\/hoffman-for-assembly\/article_181fa12e-6646-11e1-8327-001871e3ce6c.html\">The Glens Falls Post Star is reporting<\/a> that there&#8217;s also talk of Doug Hoffman running in the Assembly race for the seat being vacated by Willsboro Republican Teresa Sayward.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Moriah Republican Chairman Brett Thompson on Sunday endorsed Hoffman  for state Assembly, even though Hoffman has not yet publicly stated his  interest in running.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe only one who would market the Adirondacks the best,  in my opinion, would be Doug Hoffman,\u201d\u00a0said Thompson&#8230;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.npr.org\/2012\/03\/05\/147935272\/districts-still-unsettled-as-new-york-primary-nears\">NPR reported this morning<\/a> that Lake Placid accountant Doug Hoffman may throw his hat in the ring one more time, following two unsuccessful runs for congress.<\/p>\n<p>The national Conservative favorite told NPR that he&#8217;ll make his decision after redistricting lines are issued around March 12th.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;At this point, I&#8217;m right on the edge of two districts, and I can go either way,&#8221; says Doug Hoffman, an accountant from Lake Placid in the Adirondacks.<\/p>\n<p>Hoffman ran for Congress in 2010 with Tea Party support, and almost won. Hoffman is contemplating another run this year, but he doesn&#8217;t know which district he lives in.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;So until that question is answered, I can&#8217;t decide what race I&#8217;m getting into,&#8221; he says. &#8220;It&#8217;s taking away the average person&#8217;s ability to get into a campaign and raise funds.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>By most estimates, a Hoffman run would be a big headache for Republican Matt Doheny from Watertown, and a political boon for Rep.
