{"id":610,"date":"2009-03-20T15:23:00","date_gmt":"2009-03-20T19:23:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.northcountrypublicradio.org\/inbox\/2009\/03\/20\/tedisco-rush-limbaugh-is-meaningless-to-me\/"},"modified":"2009-03-20T15:23:00","modified_gmt":"2009-03-20T19:23:00","slug":"tedisco-rush-limbaugh-is-meaningless-to-me","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.northcountrypublicradio.org\/inbox\/2009\/03\/20\/tedisco-rush-limbaugh-is-meaningless-to-me\/","title":{"rendered":"Tedisco: &quot;Rush Limbaugh is meaningless to me.&quot;"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"story-body-parent\">\n<p style=\"clear: left\">In an interview with the Oneonta Daily Star newspaper, 20th House district candidate Jim Tedisco (R-Schenectady) said that &#8220;Limbaugh is meaningless to me.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"clear: left\">The Associated Press interpreted the statement this way:<\/p>\n<p style=\"clear: left\">\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"clear: left\">The Republican running for New York&#8217;s Congressional seat says he&#8217;s not worried about pleasing the national party or its high profile booster, radio personality Rush Limbaugh&#8230;The comment is intended to illustrate Tedisco&#8217;s independence, but comes after recent controversy over Limbaugh&#8217;s role as unofficial GOP spokesman.<\/p>\n<p style=\"clear: left\">\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"clear: left\">Tedisco&#8217;s campaign hastily issued the following statement:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"clear: left\"><span style=\"font-size:100%\"><span style=\"font-family:Times New Roman\"><span> <\/span>Jim\u2019s comments were in response to a question about what voters are asking him about on the campaign trail. <span><\/span>So far, the concerns he has been hearing from voters on the campaign trail have been local in nature&#8230;That was his point and any effort to characterize it otherwise is a distortion of the facts.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"clear: left\"><span style=\"font-size:100%\"><span style=\"font-family:Times New Roman\"><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"clear: left\"><span style=\"font-size:100%\"><span style=\"font-family:Times New Roman\">Fair enough, but this isn&#8217;t the sort of distraction Team Tedisco needed now.
