{"id":612,"date":"2009-03-22T16:49:00","date_gmt":"2009-03-22T20:49:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.northcountrypublicradio.org\/inbox\/2009\/03\/22\/explosion-at-saranac-lake-hospital-fatal-fire-at-wells-group-home\/"},"modified":"2009-03-22T16:49:00","modified_gmt":"2009-03-22T20:49:00","slug":"explosion-at-saranac-lake-hospital-fatal-fire-at-wells-group-home","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.northcountrypublicradio.org\/inbox\/2009\/03\/22\/explosion-at-saranac-lake-hospital-fatal-fire-at-wells-group-home\/","title":{"rendered":"Explosion at Saranac Lake Hospital, fatal fire at Wells group home"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Just a quick heads-up that NCPR is tracking two emergencies over the weekend:<\/p>\n<p>A fire at a group home in the town of Wells, in Hamilton County, killed four residents on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>The group home was occupied by persons with developmental disabilities and was managed by the state-run Sunmount program, headquartered in Tupper Lake.<\/p>\n<p>In investigation of the blaze is underway.<\/p>\n<p>Also, an explosion in the boiler room at Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake forced the evacuation of 35 patients on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>The blast wrecked the main heating system and hot water source for the hospital.
