Minutes after <a href=\"http:\/\/northcountrypublicradio.org\/blogs\/ballotbox\/2009\/03\/dems-say-murphy-within-2-points-of.html\">Brian Mann wrote this blog entry<\/a>, President Obama geared up his grassroots campaign machinery on behalf of fellow Democrat Scott Murphy.<\/p>\n<p>OK, Obama sent out his e-mail to 60,000 people in the 20th Congressional district a couple hours before Brian&#8217;s blog post.  And maybe, just maybe, he hasn&#8217;t read the Inbox&#8230;yet.  But the de facto leader of the Democratic party did endorse Murphy today.  Part of the treatment <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/aponline\/2009\/03\/25\/washington\/AP-Obama-Politics.html\">from the Associated Press<\/a>&#8230;<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Obama said in the e-mail that Murphy &#8221;has the kind of experience and background we desperately need right now in Washington&#8221; and asked voters to send him to Congress, &#8221;where we&#8217;ll work together to get our economy moving in the right direction.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8221;He&#8217;s created jobs by building and growing small businesses while bringing people together to address difficult challenges,&#8221; Obama added. &#8221;He supports the economic recovery plan we&#8217;ve put in place, and I know we can count on him as an ally for change.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The President is also expected to headline two multimullion dollar fundraising events tonight that will fuel the Democratic National Committee&#8217;s attempt to retain the seat in a Republican-dominated district.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Once again, DC power brokers are paying close attention to the Inbox.
