{"id":6404,"date":"2012-08-10T03:43:13","date_gmt":"2012-08-10T07:43:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.northcountrypublicradio.org\/inbox\/?p=6404"},"modified":"2012-08-15T12:36:37","modified_gmt":"2012-08-15T16:36:37","slug":"morning-read-post-star-editorial-embraces-massive-adirondack-conservation-deal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.northcountrypublicradio.org\/inbox\/2012\/08\/10\/morning-read-post-star-editorial-embraces-massive-adirondack-conservation-deal\/","title":{"rendered":"Morning Read:  Post Star editorial embraces massive Adirondack conservation deal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Over the years, no one has been a more resolute watchdog of state management of the Adirondack Park than the Glens Falls Post Star.<\/p>\n<p>The newspaper&#8217;s editorial page has often cast a skeptical eye on the relationship between key decisions inside the blue line and the influence of environmental groups.<\/p>\n<p>So it&#8217;s noteworthy, to say the least, to <a href=\"http:\/\/poststar.com\/news\/opinion\/editorial\/editorial-state-land-purchase-will-aid-adirondack-legacy\/article_886824ea-e1b3-11e1-b80f-001a4bcf887a.html\">see the Post Star embracing the massive Finch Pruyn land deal<\/a>, which at roughly 160,000 acres is the largest single expansion of the forest preserve and of conservation easement protected land in the Adirondacks in a century.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The land is invaluable.
