As a Republican. \u00a0Smith and others were arrested yesterday in the City. The federal prosecutor says it\u2019s just part of a \u201cshow me the money\u201d culture in NY politics.<\/p>\n

US\u00a0 Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (Democrat) talked with reports yesterday\u2026all about a bill<\/a> she\u2019s co-sponsoring with Republican Sen. Susan Collins of Maine to preserve small dairy farms, and force the USDA to reform the way the milk pricing system works.\u00a0 It doesn\u2019t work now, she says, and small dairy farms are hurt first, and worst. \u00a0She\u2019s got a plan for the when the Senate gets back to work on a new federal Farm Bill.<\/p>\n

No progress, as a provision to eliminate the need for an OK from the state legislature was not in the budget passed last week. The county\u2019s representatives in Albany are working on it.
