Peter King to serve as ambassador to Ireland.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p> \u201cI\u2019ve had conversations with [White House chief of staff Rahm] Emanuel, and I\u2019ve had conversations with the president,\u201d King told POLITICO. \u201cBut those conversations are private.\u201d <\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p> The report follows the Obama administration\u2019s June 2 nomination of Rep. John McHugh (R-N.Y.) to serve as secretary of the Army. McHugh and King are two of the three remaining Republican congressmen in the 29-member New York House delegation. <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Dang.  I thought Obama was an environmentalist.  Doesn&#8217;t he realize that New York&#8217;s House Republicans are an endangered species?<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s another interesting tidbit from the Politico coverage:  King has written three novels about Ireland. <\/p>\n<p>See?
