Radio Bob finally makes it to P-Town (day 7)

I’m done! Another grueling 75 miles today… actually it wasn’t so bad. YES it was! (see I’m starting to forget already)

After an hour or so of traveling, I finally crossed the Cape Cod Canal and touched actual Cape soil.

Then I  had my photo taken in Barnstable by a reporter from the “Barnstable Patriot”…. they have some sort of software/hardware setup which continually searches the entire World Wide Web for new mentions of the words “Cape Cod”… found “All In”  and decided that I should be in their paper.  (apparently a lot of fish are caught in Barnstable)   Anyway, check em’ out on Facebook.

Later, for my “second lunch” as I like to call it… around 3-ish, I had one of my favorite meals, a Clam Roll with a root beer at PJ’s in Wellfleet… yum!

Showed up here in Provincetown (P-town) around 5pm after a grand total of 515 miles…. so I was hungry and ate about 100 mussells at a great seafood restuarant.  I met some very nice people who happened to be  sitting next to me…. they had ALSO sat next to me at PJ’s.  Smallish world?

Tomorrow, more on P-town, and why it is such a great place.

Here’s what the Pilgrim Monument looked like tonight.  By the way, it’s 252 feet high (it would be a great spot for an antenna!), and was dedicated by President Taft in 1910.  Apparently, the 1620 Pilgrims hung out in P-town for 5 weeks before heading to Plymouth and the rock.
