Gouverneur Day 1

So anyway, NCPR is installing a new repeater transmitter to service a dead-spot in our coverage area… currently known as Gouverneur-Antwerp-Philadelphia.  (at least in my mind!)

All (except 1-1/2) of our 32 translator/transmitter/repeater/whatever sites are hung on other people’s towers… but this time we’re actually erecting a NEW tower for ourselves!

The new site is right by the Town of Antwerp highway garage on Rt. 11… and on Saturday our tower contractor (one of five contractors we hired for this project) started by laying out the tower’s location and (using his handy transit) the locations of the three guy anchors.  (they’ll be 130′ from the tower’s base)

Anyway, here’s a shot of Jerry L. Hunt of Jonesboro, Arkansas (a LONG drive for him to the North Country) doing his thing.More to come, I hope!

I can usually pick up the Canton signal until I pull in to the Stewart’s in Philedelphia.
