Thank you

Sometimes during fundraisers, we tear at our hair, gnash our teeth, and spew words that cannot be used on the air as we try to figure out yet another way to ask you to contribute to the station. After last week’s resounding response of support from so many of you, I have this to say about asking you for money:

Thank you. I can think of many ways to say thanks for your response to our many ways of asking for money but “thank you” is what it all boils down to…there is simply no such thing as public radio without you. Thank you.

The other thing: Wow! Did you come through or what? Thank you.

Thanks, also, to the many businesses, organizations, artists and volunteers who contributed merchandise, services and their time to the success. As I write this, we are still hearing from listeners but I can tell you we passed $215,000 a couple of days ago.

We’ll report back to you with a final total…and, we’ll keep you posted on the final decisions made at state and federal levels about continued funding for public radio and tv.
