Bill with apple sapling--some he grew from seed, some he grafted onto hearty rootstock.
What trees did you plant this year, or recently? What have you had the best luck with? Our rule of thumb for successful tree-planting: water water water. And, I love the little ditty a friend shared with me some years ago: first year sleep, second year creep, third year leap. Certainly encapsulates my experience with growth of newly planted trees.
