Yeah, I’m a news junkie but the past few weeks just about cured me of wanting to listen to or read or watch news coverage at all. The debt ceiling debate drove me crazy. So, this column from David Frum can be credited with providing relief–finally, someone sounds rational. In spite of Frum’s fairly conservative Republican perspective, he is fair and reasonable. I’d say President Obama and David Frum share the Sane and Sound Award. Congress gets the Selfish and Stupid Award.
Feel free to bash my comments…and Frum’s if you choose. But please, no debt ceiling debate. I’m done with all that…until, umm, how many months from now?
Tune in at 3:00 this afternoon for the Blue Note Goes Political Show.
Interested in Congress? How about the Salsa Congress? Much more fun…

About All In
All In is a place for everyone who works at NCPR to share behind the scenes activity, and surprising, curious, lovely or distinctly local tidbits from our travels around the region. We’ll post the best of what we find online, too. From time to time, you may hear from others—if you’d like to write an entry, send it to [email protected]. What makes this place what it is? How do we connect to each other and the world? That’s what ALL IN is all about.
We need a commentary from Frum…why? You could go back several years and pick commentary from someone on the left who identified issues that Frum has come around to now. Apparently nothing is worth thinking about until a Conservative says it.
Hey, knuckleheadedliberal…I actually think Frum’s opinion piece is interesting because, well, it mirrors what liberals have been saying for years, just as you point out. We’ve all heard liberals say these things. Now, with the fracturing of the Republican Party, “traditional” Republicans are apparently sharing more in common with liberals, or at least with moderate Democrats.

Thanks for the story, Ellen.
Truth is truth no matter who speaks it.
