QOTD: What has it got in its pocketses?

The Precious, of course.

Sometimes you just run out of good questions, like Bilbo Baggins in his riddle game with Gollum in The Hobbit. But it worked out OK in the end. Bilbo  escaped with his life by asking–to himself–“What have I got in my pocket?” A real poser, apparently, for a fish-eating homicidal head-case.

I put the day off as long as I could, but the time has come to open up the Question of the Day to a wider pool of inquisitors–all of you. Today’s Question of the Day is:

What burning question (about life, the universe, or anything) has you looking for some answers?

For today,  submit your questions in a comment below. A little later on we’ll build a special page just for your interrogatory needs. And from now on, we’ll let you “share the load.”

Burning questions, yow. Sometimes I confuse cosmic questions with petty gripes, but I think I have something a bit elevated. It is something I think about more often than just about anything other than music or how to lose weight: spirituality.

How do you define “spirituality” and (if you want to expound further) how is it expressed? Although it can be, this is not necessarily about your own spirituality. It could be about your understanding of spirituality in general including when it takes different forms than your own.

Back in the day of record players, 45s and LPs (remember them?), how exactly did a small little needle running in a grove of wax make all those warm, rich sounds?

I think it was all summed up in the movie “Team America, World Police” when the character Kim Jong-Il asked, “Why is everybody so F*****g stupid!! Watching this seasons Republican primaries has me asking this very question over and over.

How did the guy (ED Leedskalnin) move the gigantic blocks of coral it was alleged he was able to do.
Loaded a truckfull in minutes (semi-wittnessed) by some, when he had to relocate his “castle”
What understanding did he have of nature?

I’m a rule breaker, I get a kick out of breaking rules that are arbitrary or unnecessary. My QOTD is, “What rule have you broken lately/”

QOTD – If religion is all about faith and belief, why do believers act as though they know something when in fact it is only what THEY believe?
To put it another way, if there is a God and they have faith in God, why don’t they trust God to run the creation God created?
One gets the feeling believers don’t trust God to run the show. Their god would seem to be incompetent and constantly in need of their help.

If BP oil is getting richer, and if there are more oil wells then 4 yrs. ago, and if demand in the US is down, and if refineries are running at full capacity, why is the price of gas at the pump so high?
