Volunteers needed to help terns

The ongoing recovery of the common tern on the St. Lawrence River is a very cool story of science and sheer dedication.  Save the River, the Thousand Islands Land Trust, and biologist Lee Harper have used navigation cells, twine, wire, wood, and sand to give the threatened common tern a safe habitat.

Listen to the stories I linked to above, and then get involved if you can.  STR and TILT are seeking volunteers for Tuesday, April 12th.  The details:

The Tern Grid Installation will be on April 12 (rain date April 13) at 9:00 am.  Please meet at the TILT office at 8:45 am.  Volunteers must sign up in advance by emailing [email protected], calling the TILT office at 686-5345, or signing up on the TILT website at www.tilandtrust.org.  To learn more about the Common Tern Project visit Save The River’s website www.savetheriver.org.
