Saranac Lake music for food

This Saturday, musicians from across the region gather to perform in the third annual Food Pantry Benefit concert to be held at the Adirondack Carousel, 2 Depot Street in Saranac Lake. This is a family-friendly all day celebration of  community, music, and Adirondack north country life…with a purpose. The event raises money to help restock food pantries in Saranac Lake, Vermontville, Brighton and Duane.

From event organizer Keith Gorgas, these details:

Those who attend are asked to bring donations of cash and/or non perishable foods. (Cash goes much further, as each dollar donated has the buying power of up to $12.00 worth of food)

Members of the various food pantries will be on hand to collect donations.  All musicians donate their performance.  Some will have CDs for sale, and you can support them by purchasing them at the show.

Food and beverages will be for sale, with all profits going directly to the food pantries. There will also be door prizes, raffles, and a guitar auction to aid in raising funds.  Many people and local merchants pitch in each year and back this endeavor.  Over the past few years, these concerts have raised many thousands of dollars and truckloads of food. Members of Trio, an organization involving students from several local colleges, will be on hand to provide assistance.
