Help NCPR fight for the facts

It would be nice to be able to say as we once did that “The facts speak for themselves.” Sadly, if that was ever the case, it no longer seems to be. Amid the blizzard of disinformation, scientifically targeted “advertorials,” outright propaganda, deliberate falsifications and distortions in our newsfeeds and social media, how do you separate fact from chaff?

Well, you need people who will fight for the facts, who will dig in, investigate, double-check, do the legwork, and who work together in an organization like NCPR that practices core values of integrity, consistency and even-handedness.

While cranking out clickbait may be cheap, finding the facts takes resources, and this is the time of year when we ask you to help us fight for the facts. If the facts no longer speak for themselves, someone needs to speak up for them. How about you?

    This is not to pick on you guys because you do try but
    All of the big shot national news outlets from print to TV to Internet brought this on themselves when they switched from just the facts to hours and hours and hours of opinion.
    It was inevitable when the nightly news half hour became the 24/7/365 news hours. It became garbage in/garbage out just to fill space. Experts on this, that and everything came pouring out of the woodwork like cockroaches at night. Paid geniuses offering their opinions.
    Just the facts have been gone for a long time and I don’t expect to see those days every coming back.
    We will never get the truth about the Vegas rampage and don’t you dare ever expect to get the truth about what has been going on in Hollywood forever and ever. Enablers? They are all over the place and not all of them are men, and not all the hanky panky casting that goes on is between just powerful men and women. Sometimes it’s between men and men, and women and women, but the news will never go there.
