This is how we treat our tourists?

The Associated Press has a great story out of Lake George today. I mention this lightly because the victim of the incident is recuperating nicely.

And I say ‘victim’ because the tourist in question was shot in the leg…by a missile fired from a canon.

Doug Struder, from Butler, Kentucky, was eating lunch by Lake George when “he was knocked off his feet by a flying object that turned out to be a ramrod from nearby Fort William Henry.”

Officials at the fort say the ramrod was sent hurtling from the fort when it fell over in front of the cannon’s barrel as it was fired.

Struder’s left leg was fractured, and he was scheduled for surgery today to insert a metal plate.
