Are the ORDA cuts off the table?

So far, Democratic leaders say the state Senate’s proposed ORDA cuts are still alive and part of the discussion.

But there seems to be an effort in Albany to “walk back” the idea.

I spoke with Travis Proulx, spokesman for the Senate Democratic majority, a few minutes ago. Here’s what he had to say:

It’s just a proposal. We wanted to show how you could achieve a balanced budget…We’re not wedded to any proposal as it is written now. The whole purpose of the resolution is to bring people together.

Proulx went on to add this:

Everything has to be on the table…does that specifically mean that the proposal on the table for ORDA will stand as it is? Absolutely not.

Proulx accused state Senator Betty Little of failing to communicate to Democrats how important ORDA is to the North Country.

oh ok so Senator Little needs to tell elected leaders about a state run facility. Mr. Proulx if you don't know what ORDA is about you don't need to be working in your position.
