Underwater demolition to disrupt Friday ferry service at Crown Point

This from New York’s Department of Transportation.

Ferry commuters should expect a slight disruption of service during the day on Friday, April 9, when underwater remnants of piers 6 and 7 of the former Lake Champlain Bridge are demolished using underwater explosives.

Ferry service will be suspended for a few minutes during demolition, but will resume shortly afterward. The explosive demolition will be scheduled during non-peak travel times in order to minimize the impact on ferry traffic.

No specific time has been set for the work. The backup date will be Saturday, April 10th.
