Check this quote out

It’s from Times Union reporter Casey Seiler’s story about the impassioned lobbying in Albany yesterday against hydrofracking. People came to the Senate chambers.  Pete Seeger sang, “When ‘drill, baby, drill’ turns to ‘spill, baby, spill’/God’s countin’ on me.”

They’re asking for an 11-month moratorium on use of the controversial process in New York State.  (Karen DeWitt reports on it for NCPR today, too.)

As in any reporting on the legislature in Albany, there is a section on what the bill’s chances for passage by the lawmakers, who are still home, or wherever, on break. Not good, it looks like.

Here’s what John Sampson, the Senate Majority Leader, had to say:

“I hope members from both sides of the aisle can come together to ensure any action commences according to the highest standards of accountability,” Sampson said.
