Morning Read: School enrollment down sharply in Lake George

Here’s the take-away from the Glens Falls Post-Star:

Interim Superintendent Patrick Dee said enrollment is at 972, down 42 from the end of the 2009-10 school year. He said 31 of the 42 students were the result of a large senior class graduating in June and a small kindergarten class starting school in September.

If my math is correct, that’s nearly a 5% drop in one year.  Read the full article here.

    Well, apparently people were in a better mood in 1992 or 1993 than they were in 2002 or 2003, if I have my math right.

    Maybe we should go back to see if there were any blackouts in any of those years, or who won the World Series or the Superbowl.

    Or maybe people have heard it costs about $250,000 to raise a kid to 18 – and then this is followed by cost of college.
