Not just the Adirondacks
I hope you’ve heard or read about our grand new project to
expand regional broadcast and digital news and information services with a special emphasis on creating the next generation of public media professionals.
Though our partner in this is the Adirondack Community Trust, this $600 to $700,000 investment over the next three years is definitely not targeted just to the Adirondack piece of our listening area.
We will be meeting over the next weeks to fill in the details of out how we can broaden and deepen news and informnation service to our entire community, from Cape Vincent to Plattsburgh to Glens Falls, and points between.
ACT reached out to both the Northern New York Community Foundation, based in Watertown, and the community foundation of Herkimer and Oneida counties to broaden our base. The timing wasn’t right for either organization, and we were under a very tight deadline from the Knight Foundation. ACT and NCPR decided to take s shot at it anyhow.
This is a biggie, and we’re all in it together. Let us know your thoughts.
