Update: The Burlington Free Press now reports the following: “Todd Lacroix, an Occupy Burlington organizer, echoed several people on the scene who said the shooting was apparently self-inflicted.”
Police are saying a 35-year-old man is in grave condition after a shooting in City Hall Park, the scene of the Occupy Burlington encampment.
They say it will be several hours before they know more, but did say there is no danger to the public. And they say they have recovered the weapon.
The Burlington Free Press reports that Burlington Deputy Police Chief Andi Higbee said his department received a 911 call a little after 2 p.m. of a discharged firearm in the park.
A motionless man was removed from a green tent where blood was evident. About a half dozen police cars were at the scene at about 2:20 p.m.

Occupy = FAIL
Nice comment. Very tasteful.
It is especially sad, in light of the news that the Occupy Burlington shooting death was apparently the suicide of a war vet on Veterans Day, that someone with the handle of Adirondack Patriot would make such a post.
Veterans of recent wars have been very active in the Occupy movement.
It isn’t going well:
