PS – One of the great secrets of the North Country is that when the bugs do come out, they often don’t actually start eating right away…
We were lounging on rocks near Tupper Lake midweek and there were so many bugs that the place was literally humming…but they had no interest in us whatsoever.
It’s like this little period of detente before the real nastiness begins….

And I woudda swore that was a black fly i dug outta my eye last evening, while doing yard work.
The swallows and bats are feasting in Dekalb.
Wow, sorry Dekalb. Even more reason to grab yourself a bottle of wine…
