Brian Mann is with Gov. Andrew Cuomo and local leaders this morning in Ausable Forks. He’s just phoned in to report that Gov. Cuomo has committed $1.5 million in state monies to rebuild the Upper Jay fire hall.
The fire hall was seriously damaged two years ago, during Tropical Storm Irene. Local leaders said they needed extra funds to rebuild.
They governor, speaking in Ausable Forks, said the towns of Jay and Keene would also be eligible to apply for an additional $6 million in state funds to prepare for future storms and floods.
Brian will have more tomorrow morning during Morning Edition and The Eight O’clock Hour.

Is the bank going to cash that kind of a check?
Can New York State cover that kind of check?
The proper spelling is Au Sable Forks. Denton Publications is the only media outlet that manages to spell it correctly.
