Times: Obama asks Paterson to step aside

A day before President Barack Obama arrives in New York state, for an event in Troy, the NY Times is reporting that the Administration is asking Governor David Paterson to step aside.

“Is there concern about the situation in New York? Absolutely,” the second administration official said Saturday evening. “Has that concern been conveyed to the governor? Yes.”

Is the White House reading the In Box? Or is this just a no-brainer? In any event, the Times is reporting that Gov. Paterson remains “resistant” to the idea of stepping aside.
