I just stumbled across this lecture delivered by NPR VP of news, Ellen Weiss. It was presented as part of the John S. Knight Fellowship lecture series at Stanford University.
At different times over the last decade I’ve worked closely with Ellen. She’s probably the person who most shapes your Morning Edition and All Things Considered experience who you’ve also never heard much about.
So — if you’re an NPR junkie — take a few minutes to check out what she has to say about the future of public journalism.
Weiss talks candidly about cuts at NPR and her sense for where the network is going.
