NPR senior political correspondent Mara Liasson’s appearances on Fox News have made the public radio world nervous for years.
Not because of her occasional blunders (she once said “Cash for Clunkers is like a mini-Katrina…”) but because she appears positioned as the “liberal” counter to Fox’s conservative pundits.
Now, according to Politico, NPR executives want Liasson to end her decade-long relationship with Fox:
Executives at National Public Radio recently asked the network’s top political correspondent, Mara Liasson, to reconsider her regular appearances on Fox News because of what they perceived as the network’s political bias, two sources familiar with the effort said.
NPR officials declined to comment for the article (it’s mostly recounted using unnamed sources).
