I’ve received a separate email offering identical support to Watertown businessman Matt Doheny, the other prominent Republican running in the NY-23 primary.
An earlier blog post here noted the National Republican Congressional Committee is offering support for Conservative Republican Doug Hoffman.
“The NRCC is committed to working with Doug Hoffman as he continues to meet the rigorous goals of the Young Guns program,” said NRCC Chairman Pete Sessions.
Sessions is quoted saying the same about Doheny:
“The NRCC is committed to working with Matt Doheny as he continues to meet the rigorous goals of the Young Guns program,” said NRCC Chairman Pete Sessions.
Do you think he actually said the first sentence, than had to "say" the sentence again, just substituting in a different name? ;^)Today's world of press releases is so much fun…
My problem with the NRCC and 527 tax exempt groups like the Young Guns is the amount of " soft" money" they receive. The donors are individuals and they purposefully make it hard to follow the money trail. It's former treasure, Chris Ward, made his mark with the "Swift Boat " attack on Sen. Kerry during the 2004 elections. Later it was found to be faulty and bogus. He later was found guilty of taking money from the NRCC. Groups who are in bed with lobbyists like this are all that is wrong with American politics. It is the buying of elections. The k Street scandal is typical of their tactics." activities of the K Street Project occurred when Davis was head of the NRCC; the organization was fined by the Federal Election Commission for transferring funds between PACs for the same candidates in violation of contribution limits." Money money money. The Republican candidate will not be out spent. They rarely are. "Young Guns," "Patriot Program," all cute, names for the same weasel.
