Scozzafava Bows Out of Assembly Race
Dede Scozzafava (R – Gouverneur) says she will not seek re-election to her North Country seat in the state Assembly.
She told the Watertown Daily Times:
it’s time for me to take a breather and go in a different direction.
Scozzafava became a national figure during last year’s contentious Congressional race in the North Country. She dropped out after many of her fellow Republicans supported Conservative candidate Doug Hoffman.
She shocked many on the Right last year by endorsing Democrat Bill Owens, who went on to win the seat–the first Democrat to do since the Civil War.
At the time, some Republicans vowed to challenge Scozzafava in a primary for her seat. Jefferson County legislator Ken Blankenbush announced last week he would do just that.
If Dede were to run for US Senator against Gillibrand I'd support her 100%.
The loss of Scozzafava is unfortunate. I didn't care for her timing in dropping out of last November's race, but I do think that she did a good job for the area.A run for the US Senate is probably not on her mind.
The bottom line to this whole ordeal is that politicians are dirty and it proves that they aren't out for what is good for the people..it's a popularity contest and who will be the best puppet!! You're telling me by listening to that stupid idiot Hoffman that he would've been the best person to represent us??! Come on people…the only ones that vote for "psycho eyes" Hoffman are the rich who don't want to pay their share!! Poor Dede got burned for doing what she thought was best for the people and now she's getting crucified for it!! They should get rid of everyone of the dirty politicians and put hard working everyday people in there!!
we just last a good representative for the people not the big bad company's a lady for the people of this area,but i can understand her feeling. but if you wish to run dede,you will have suport,not by the big company's but by us little people. thank's for the great job and know if you want to ran you do and always will have suport. steve o rep. party town of norfolk…. good luck
