A strong storm system is moving across northern New York and Vermont this afternoon.
Severe thunderstorm warnings–from the National Weather Service–remain in effect through this evening.
The weather service also issued two tornado warnings–in Franklin and Clinton Counties–but these warnings expired. NWS meteorologist Chuck McGill says conditions no longer favor the creation of funnel clouds or tornadoes.
He also said his office in Burlington hasn’t received any word of a tornado or wind damage from anywhere in the northern New York/Vermont region.
