NY23: Doheny-Owens debate back on
After 24 hours of muddle, the debate in Plattsburgh between Matt Doheny and Bill Owens is back on at its original time.
The debate will be filmed October 27th by Mountain Lake PBS, according to Thom Hallock.
“The Doheny campaign just a few minutes ago agreed to work out whatever scheduling conflict they had and
participate in the debate,” Hallock emailed. “The Owens campaign has reaffirmed the Congressman will participate.”
The program will not include a live audience, but will air on MLPBS on October 28th. Thanks to their generosity, NCPR will be able to rebroadcast the program on Sunday afternoon, Oct 31st, at 5pm.
The Doheny camp says they never had any intention of dropping the debate. They were simply wrestling with a busy schedule.
Meanwhile, I’ll be in Troy tonight taking part in a debate panel for the NY-20 race between incumbent Democrat Scott Murphy and Republican challenger Chris Gibson.
We’re hoping to be able to broadcast that program as well. We’ll keep you posted.
