Just spoke with pollster Steven Greenberg about Siena’s poll on the 23rd Congressional district released today. He mentioned that Siena will be releasing one more poll on Saturday that will take the temperature of four key State Senate races that could decide who controls that chamber next year.
One of those is the 48th district race between Democratic Senator Darrel Aubertine and Patty Ritchie. We’ll have those results for you here as soon as we get them, and on The 8 O’Clock Hour Monday morning.
Check out our profiles of both candidates.
Meanwhile, the candidates split endorsements from the district’s two major papers. Ritchie won support from the Syracuse Post-Standard. Aubertine earned a very enthusiastic endorsement from the Watertown Daily Times.

I am amazed that people are duped by Patty Ritchie.
She has no political experience nor will she ‘take a stand’ on any of the important issues … she gives wishy-washy generic replies.
Her ads imply that she alone put a stop to the NYS license plate issue .. not true. Her name was one of many who collected signatures. She implies that she alone stopped the closure of O’burg prision …not true. More influential politicians and dignitaries deserve the credit for that.
It is obvious that she will be a pawn for down-state republicans
Im amazed how many people are duped by “one of us” Aubertine. He advises local government officials to break state ethics law by voting on whether to allow windmills. He did this because he had contracts to have windmillls built on his own land.
Aubertine belongs in prison, not the Senate.
It amazes me that people will vote for Ritchie on the grounds that she increased revenue for SLC through her efforts at DMV. Where does she think the money came from? Increased fees from the people! She is but a puppet for downstate republicans. Darrel is a conservative out to help farmers and his own people, NNY. Vote smart.
