Fight for GOP leadership winding to an end?

Jasper Nolan, chair of Saratoga County’s influential Republican Committee, has thrown his support to Ed Cox.

Cox is a Manhattan lawyer and the son-in-law of President Richard Nixon. He’s also won the support of Dean Skelos, minority leader in the state Senate.

Thinks are looking grim for Niagara County’s Henry Wojtaszek, who was favored by former NYC Mayor Rudy Giuliani.

Liz Benjamin, with the New York Daily News, asked Nolan if this complicates Giuliani’s gubernatorial bid. Here’s his reply:

“I don’t see this as a hit on Rudy. He’s still a part of the Republican Party – a very major part. We just didn’t want to stall this out any longer.”
