Schumer makes tea party playing card target list

A national tea party organization is selling playing cards that identify Democrats (and some Republicans) that they hope to unseat in November.

They urge activists to mail the playing cards to elected officials “as a reminder that, on Election Day, you will be calling his bluff,” adding this peculiar note:

Suggestion : you may want to refrain from writing your return address on the envelope.”

I’m not sure Sen. Schumer would mind being identified as a king.  In any event, his seat is viewed as one of the safest in the country.

If the teabaggers think sending Schumer pictures of himself is going to bother him in some way they are dumber than I thought they were. By the way, where can I get a deck?

  2. knuckleheadedliberal says:

I mean a free deck…not paying for any.

  3. buddy says:

These clowns are nothing but terrorist wannabes, They want people from all parties to join them, but in reality they are just Republicans that can’t stand the idea that they haven’t won a presidential election in a long, long time, So to fix things, they want to form the “Master Race” of republicanism, I don’t know that anyone on there hit list is without fault, But maybe they should SHUT UP and Let the “MAJORITY” decide their fate during the next election………………….You know what the majority is right ? It’s a very large group of people who Didn’t Vote republican in the last presidential election.

Well this actually bothers me and I don’t really mind the tea party activists as much as some. The reason being is that this is a play on that stupid ignorant playing card deck that we did in Iraq when we were hunting down Saddam’s loyalists. It was meant to mean we will kill them one by one.

I think it is violent imagery and it really bugs me plus just being stupid.

  5. knuckleheadedliberal says:

I think you may have a point Mervel but I don’t think it is necessarily a call to violence, and decks of playing cards like this have been printed for all sorts of reasons well before the Iraq war. My grandfather gave me a deck once with German and Japanese airplane silhouettes that were printed in WWII so people could spot enemy planes. Anyway, its a free country and people are entitled to do all kinds of things that others find reprehensible. Sometimes that’s how you figure out who the bad guys are.

  6. Mervel says:

Oh I don’t think it is literally a call to violence. But like you said, what was printed on the cards you got from your grandfather; enemy planes.

These are our US Senators, not enemies. That is the type of tone these things set, it is part of the environment that I think it toxic. You are right though maybe it simply can point out who the idiots are.

I don’t even like Senator Shumer politically. But at the same time from what I have seen of him he is an honorable person that does care about NY which is why we send him to Washington.

We need a Radical Moderate Party.

  7. PNElba says:

How come McCain gets the ace of spades and not Schumer? How many Republican faces are in the deck? I love seeing them eat their own.

  8. buddy says:

What card would Palin Be in a deck ?? The joker ? That’s probably it,
Very colorful, but pretty much useless.

  9. Bret4207 says:

My, my, my. What open minded, caring individuals. Knucklehead is the best of you strangely.

Tell me “Buddy”, your beloved Messiahs “buddy” Bill Ayers- would he meet your definition of a “terrorist”? I mean a guy that’s proud of bombing a police station and killing people…that to me is a far more overt act than putting the faces of the enemies of freedom on playing cards, wouldn’t you say? And where is the outrage from the liberal intelligentsia over Queen Pelosis ordering the Catholic Church to PREACH her version of immigration reform (amnesty for any illegal that will vote Democrat) from the pulpit??? I suppose separation of Church and State only applies to those on the right?

The hypocrisy evident here is appalling. I’m often accused of creating “strawmen”, and yet here “Buddy” goes off in a way I’d never dream of and gets support from the peanut gallery. Amazing.

I guess I’d better “shut up” as Buddy orders since I’m just a terrorist wannabe.

“Knucklehead is the best of you strangely. ”

What did Mervel ever do to you?

  11. Bret4207 says:

Nothing. But a US Senator can be your “enemy” when his objectives involve taking away your rights, destroying whats left of our economy and culture. Sen Schumer is my “enemy” in that respect, but he has my respect for at least showing up at Ground Zero when it was still a stinking, smoking mess where the air tasted of decaying corpses and the dust of the debris. Hillary never did that. But I don’t accuse either of them of being “wannabe terrorists” like some here refer to other Americans. Wrong is wrong, and that is wrong.

  12. buddy says:

Just like knuckleheadedliberal says, Maybe these playing cards will help show people for who they are, but will it be the ones who are on them or the folks who published them ??
Only time will tell…………………and of course the voting Majority will help also.

  13. Mervel says:

You see this is the bizarre environment we live in.

I thought the playing cards were in poor taste and stupid. However to then jump on and say that the tea party people are terrorists wannabees is even MORE stupid than the playing cards. They are just normal people who sometimes are misguided and sometimes are right, but make no mistake they are a true populist movement that people should not ignore.

As far as Pelosi telling our Catholic Bishops what to say well I hope she is there when we talk about abortion…she picks and chooses as she pleases from her cafeteria of choices. I do agree it is problematic to have her as a Catholic and the leader of the Senate to be trying to tell priests what to say from the pulpit, I agree with Bret on that one.

  14. More4les says:

I have one question for all liberal bloggers….when was the last time you read “The Emperor’s New Clothes”? Take a look at the protests going on in this nation….don’t read the signs… don’t know ahead of time what the protest you are seeing is for…..choose which protests are most violent. THEN read the signs. Wow you do a double take. How are tea party protests viewed as violent compared to the protests in Arizona? World wide violent protests are people looking to control. Tea party protesters just want to be left alone. They are pro self sufficiency. That’s what the left is missing. they cannot understand how someone who isn’t filthy rich (in the leftist’s eyes) could support the tea party. I’ll tell you how….we just want to live our lives without government interference. Let us attempt to make our own way. If we fail, we will brush ourselves off and try again. That’s what used to make this nation great. Everyone is entitled to the OPPORTUNITY to make it. It’s not guaranteed that we will. Now we are getting closer to being guaranteed we won’t be allowed to even try.

Buddy, I think your initial post has pretty well negated any possible chance of anyone I know giving anything you say serious consideration.

  16. Bret4207 says:

So Buddy- whats your answer on Ayers? You used the terrorist word, along with the whole “master race”/nazi strawman. So gut up and defend your words.

Incidentally, the Republicans won 2 of the last 3 Presidential elections. Just what qualifies as “a long, long time” on your planet?
