Paladino in Watertown Daily Times: Paterson a drug addict

Carl Paladino, who’s making an insurgent run for the Republican gubernatorial nomination, sat down with the Watertown Daily Times recently and accused Gov. David Paterson of being a drug addict “for his entire life.”

Paladino made the comments to illustrate his own claim that he’ll say whatever he feels like saying, and won’t be fettered by “political correctness.”

Watch the video below.

Paterson, who has won increasing respect the last few weeks for his budget-balancing efforts, has admitted to using illegal drugs as a young man, but there is no factual evidence of recent substance abuse.

Nor did Paladino provide any evidence to support his claim, other than to suggest that Paterson “is not your friend.”

At the end of the video, you can hear someone from Team Paladino suggesting that these comments were made off the record.

It’s worth noting that Paladino is currently polling around 16%…and that’s among Republican voters.

Which means he may be the only politician in New York state who’s numbers are lower than Paterson’s.

Palidino is the latest example of the danger to our way of life when we make money the only qualifying factor to serve in our various levels of government. The last thing we need is this narcissistic thug and his “baseball bat” swaggering around Albany trying to enforce his divisive, counterproductive ignorance on an already-imperiled situation.

    Jeeze, another loser.

  3. broke taxpayer says:

Are you really comfortable with the status quo. Everybody complains about these clowns in Albany, but who is saying they are going to do anything about it.

  4. Fred says:

Paladino is for real and I love the fact that he is not politically correct.

We need a guy like this to chase the rats out of Albany. He has my vote!

I don’t mind people speaking their mind, but you need to be responsible about it. These comments and the items that came to light a few months back about racist theme emails and beastiality, just show me Carl is too loose of a cannon…

I just deleted a comment because of profanity. Please keep it civil folks.

Aw man, do we really need the language? Comon’ Verplanck, you can do better.

This guy is an example of someone who may well have the best of intentions but his mouth will do him in. He might well have all the answers but he’ll never get beyond 1st base if he makes wild accusations. Part of politics is being able to call someone a low down, worthless dog in the nicest possible way, one that leaves the subject smiling.

I work for SkunkPost.com and got an interview with Paladino where he admits he’s a racist…. I’d take drugs over that any day, check it:

Can’t the GOP come up with someone better than Lazio or Paladino? Betty Little and Teresa Sayward are both much better choices.

  10. knuckleheadedliberal says:

Betty Little? What has she done besides whining about the dysfunction all the while just toeing the party line?

  11. scratchy says:

I didn’t say she was the best choice; I just said that she was better than Wall Street lobbyist Lazio and lunatic Paladino.
