Goodbye, Sarah!

Late afternoon on Friday, the best day of the work-week.

As you know from the All In post to the right of me on the homepage, it’s also the last day here for our summer intern, Sarah Harris. Lest you think, from her post, that the summer has been all feasting and tribe-building at our boss, Ellen’s house, let me say here that the news department will miss Sarah for her hard work on behalf on NCPR on-air, and ncpr.org online.

You’ll hear her last audio piece Monday morning, a postcard from the St. Lawrence County Fair in Gouverneur.  And today is that last day we’ll have her help in providing extra text and other tweaks to the online news pages.

Sarah dropped straight into the news operation from her junior year at Middlebury College, learning the trade secrets here so quickly that she’s essentially been a fully functioning, 100 % contributing member of the news/web team. So welcome, Sarah, to the news-tribe… goodbye, and come back soon!

Here’s the deal: Sarah took the work seriously. Up every morning, into Canton, arrival at station, headphones on, computer humming, doing the job. Smart, good writer, plugged in. You’re the real deal, Sarah. We’ll miss you at the station.
