The morning

It’s beautiful outside right now…I hope you’re able to get some of the fresh air and daylight before sundown. I’m not adjusted to the time change yet; the early dark is still a surprise.

Ennaways, it’ll be sunny again tomorrow, if the forecasters are right. Also tomorrow, you can expect news:

Bill Owens is nudging both parties to compromise on the Bush-era tax cuts. A plan introduced in September was put on hold…in the midst of partisan campaigning.  Owens and three House colleagues think Pres. Obama’s comments after his “shellacking”  on election day give lawmakers more room to figure out a way to extend middle class tax cuts for a while, and other  tax cuts for a shorter while.

We’ll sample pro- and anti-wind opinion from the Southern Tier.  And we’ll hear why the Jefferson County town of Henderson became the first town in the region to ban wind turbines outright.

Jim McCulley, a vocal Lake Placid snowmobile took the DOT to task for funding the scenic railway between Saranac Lake and lake Placid, while saying it doesn’t have enough money to fix roads and bridges.

And we’ve got Piquant!, from Potsdam, coming in live for music in the second half.

I’m starting to think maybe none of the tax cuts should be extended. They’re a luxury we can no longer afford.
