What were your big stories this year?

The days between Christmas and New Year’s Day tend to be slow for news, but it’s always a big news year. This week, NCPR reporters Sarah Harris, David Sommerstein and Brian Mann got together with Martha Foley in the studio to talk about their big stories of the year (here’s that list in blog form), and the Watertown Daily Times had its own list of top stories in its area as well (worth a look!)

But here’s my question: What were the top stories for you this year? Maybe they were stories from the news that impacted you (perhaps, for example, you work at St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center, or have a kid in school and are experiencing the transition to the Common Core standards); or maybe they were just things that happened in your life that eclipsed the news in importance.

My big story this year was the birth of our daughter Jamie in August. It doesn’t have anything to do with the news (although we did use health insurance and I did have her in a hospital, so I guess everything has something to do with the news…)

What’s yours? Share, won’t you? And happy new year!
