Rose tipped first growth in Penfield Pond. Photo: Brian Mann
I was paddling my canoe this week on a gray, colorless morning on Penfield Pond, a pretty stretch of water in the Champlain Valley found in the foothills above Crown Point.
My eye was hungry for any color and I found just a bit of it, just a blush of rose, down on the murky bottom.
I used a waterproof camera to snap this picture. The water itself was so cold that it felt like someone was stabbing my hand. –Brian Mann
Beautiful!
