Former Hoffman aide at the center of ugly GOP battle in Delaware

Sarah Palin made headlines yesterday when she endorsed Tea Party favorite Christine O’Donnell in Delaware’s GOP Senate primary, spurning the Republican Party bosses’ main pick, Mike Castle.

According to Slate, Palin’s surprising pick was engineered by Matt Moran, who was part of Doug Hoffman’s campaign team last year in the NY-23 special election.

It was Palin’s endorsement of Hoffman that really rocketed him into the stratosphere, and made her endorsement valuable — something that was not at all clear in October 2009, when she took that first leap.

Moran stayed in touch with the Palins and kept up communication when national attention turned to Delaware and O’Donnell became the focus of attacks from the local GOP and ugly media coverage from, well, lots of places.

matt moran was a great campaign worker for doug hoffman. very few know of his contribution to hoffman’s near victory. if hoffman goes down tuesday and in november, the cause will be the absence of moran and others that were sent packing.

Yes. Without Moran, Hoffman clearly loses the anti-masturbation vote.
